Q: What is the difference between SACC New York and SACC USA?

A: The swedish-american chamber of commerce, inc. (sacc new york) was founded in 1906 in new york - the first swedish chamber outside of sweden and the first swedish-related chamber in the americas. today it is the largest, most active and most influential swedish chamber outside of sweden. no other swedish-american organization counts as many top ceos among its board members. the chamber's has an extensive and impressive network and few can provide the same set of services ranging from the high-caliber events to professional consulting assignments assisting clients exploring or expanding in the u.s. in 1988, the regional chambers (atlanta, chicago, detroit, houston, new york and western u.s.) founded the umbrella organization sacc-usa, which was incorporated in 1995. sacc-usa provides support and assistance to the regional chambers. it organizes the entrepreneurial days in sweden and provides assistance to the regional chambers' trainee programs.

A: The swedish-american chamber of commerce, inc. is not an employment agency. however, the chamber arranges career seminars that cover some of the most important issues regarding work in the u.s. the chamber also provides excellent networking opportunities such as the tuesday club, young professionals and other events.

A: There are many different ways to apply for a visa depending on the type of visa and country of residence. the chamber does not handle inquiries concerning issuing of visas or visa applications. the following links will guide you through to various institutions handling these matters. contact the consulate general of sweden if you are residing in the united states. if you are a u.s. citizen holding a valid u.s. passport and your stay in sweden will not exceed 90 days, you will not need a visa. visa applications for u.s. residents are handled by the consulate general of sweden in new york. contact the American Embassy if you reside in sweden and consider applying for a visa to the u.s. the consular section provides a variety of services for american citizens and citizens of other countries. there are four departments within the section: the american citizen's service section assists people with passport renewal, registration of americans living in sweden, birth reports for children of american citizens born in sweden, voter registration, income tax forms, notarial services and emergency services to american citizens. the federal benefits unit assists people with questions regarding social security benefits. the immigrant visa section processes cases for people wishing to immigrate to the u.s. the non-immigrant visa section processes applications for temporary visas to the united states including tourist visas, business visas, student visas and temporary work permits. contact immigration lawyers in the u.s. for further information about visa alternatives in the u.s. or when you need assistance applying. for recommendations, please feel free to contact us
