For Americans, physical presence in the U.S. market is a key aspect of doing business. The six hour time difference between Sweden and the U.S. stresses this even more. The ability to offer clients and contacts services from a local office inspires confidence and can even be a prerequisite for business collaboration. The Business Support Office we can structure for you offers that extra advantage you are looking for as your business establishes its foothold in the U.S.
Business Support Office is one of the Chamber’s well-established – and track record shows highly appreciated – services under our Business Services umbrella. As Swedish companies are looking to establish a presence in the U.S., all have different need, speed, and ways to proceed. For companies that do not yet have representatives in the U.S., the Business Support Office services are a cost-effective solution in managing their U.S. entity in its initial phases.
Uppsala University established a U.S. organization in 2008, to create awareness about the University on this side of the Atlantic. Although they have an organization established, they do not have employed representatives. Yet, having an organization in the U.S. requires dealing with a number of administrative duties throughout the business year, which someone has to manage. And doing that from Sweden is neither practical nor easy. So the organization, named American Friends of Uppsala University, turned to the Chamber and signed up for its Business Support Office services in early 2009. The organization is utilizing some of the many services the Chamber provides and the cooperation has prosperously continued ever since.
