About the Chamber
 |
In Business for Business
In 1906, eleven prominent Swedish businessmen gathered in New York to establish a Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce.
|
Such an organization was deemed vital for trade and the furthering of economic relationships between the United States and Sweden.
Today, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York is the largest in the world outside of Sweden and an important meeting place for Swedish-American businesspeople and interests. This only seems natural when you consider that Sweden has the world's oldest trade agreement with the United States, signed in 1783 in Paris by Benjamin Franklin and Count Carl-Gustaf Creutz (later the first Swedish ambassador to the United States). The Chamber remains true to its mission: To promote, advance and protect direct commercial relations between the United States and Sweden.
The Chamber's main resources are its members and its lengthy experience. By leveraging its unique network and a century of Swedish-American business, it is well positioned to help you facilitate any kind of venture. The Chamber's foundation is made up of three pillars:
|
Membership
Membership in the Chamber ensures that you are part of the Swedish-American business community and provides access to our network, as well as unique opportunities for your company to highlight its products and services.
Events
The Chamber's full events calendar provides abundant networking and educational opportunities, including seminars, conferences, luncheons and galas, that offer a multitude of ways to raise your company's visibility.
Business Services
Business Services provides professional consulting services aimed at assisting Swedish companies pursuing business opportunities in the U.S. and vice versa. Together with our members, we also publish information booklets on the challenges you might meet while conducting business between the U.S. and Sweden.

I can find a business network of people to discuss with when I am feeling lonely in my decision making process. I can find experienced people to learn from when it comes how to deal with people and business in the USA when my knowledge and experience is not sufficient.

President and CEO of Volvo Group North America
