Why Focus on GreenTech?
The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York has for many years been at the forefront of promoting environmental issues.
|
In September of 2006, SACC New York celebrated one hundred years of promoting commerce and trade between Sweden and the United States. During the celebration, many theories and projections were presented and discussed, and it became clear that the global climate crisis was at the top of everyone's mind. The King of Sweden proposed that the Chamber should become a forum where Swedish and American leaders could focus on forging new partnerships to develop solutions that would benefit our planet. We took His Majesty at his word and are now one of the most prominent Swedish-American organizations facilitating business between these two nations in the field of clean technology.
|
But Why Sweden?
There is global consensus that few, if any, nations rival Sweden when it comes to preserving clean, sustainable water, as well as developing the research, technologies and government polices to prevent the pollution of fresh water sources. The international Stockholm Water Prize, founded 18 years ago, has been hailed as ”the world's most prestigious award for outstanding achievement in water-related activities.”
As a Chamber of Commerce, our primary goal is to stimulate an exchange of ideas and a profitable forging of new partnerships between American and Swedish companies and individuals deeply immersed in water. Mark your calendars now to join us at our November conference, which will feature leaders in academia, politics and business talking about sustainable water and what it means for companies worldwide.
The United States and Sweden: A Perfect Match
The United States and Sweden are a perfect match when it comes to environmental and energy challenges. Policies and programs have been put in place in both countries to support the creation of a reliable and sustainable energy supply from renewable sources.
The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce is in a unique position to bring together leaders from a variety of key sectors, serve as a conduit for new investment, and pair funding with ideas. In an increasingly globalized world economy, our role is to assemble the best and brightest talent from our two nations under one roof. We invite you to take advantage of the opportunities within the field of sustainable technologies, and to help us create initiatives that we will all be proud of.
