Enjoy the Summer During the summer the Chamber is at full speed planning for all the upcoming events this fall. The event next in line is the Board Meeting in Stockholm on August 17-18. By populare demand, the Crayfish Dinner Dance is back and this year held at the New York Yacht Club on September 18. On September 15 or 16 (TBC), the CEO of Skanska, Johan Karlström will be giving a presentation during a Speaker Luncheon. These are just few of the many event organized this fall. We hope to see you all at as many events as possible. But for right now, we hope you are having a great and relaxing summer.

Ambassador Wood Summarizes His Green Work in Sweden It is our great pleasure to see that the green movement within the Swedish-American Business Community continues. One of the Captains, the former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, Michael Wood, contributed with excellence to this important initiative. BioFuels Winner of the SACC Deloitte Green Award The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York is pleased to announce Swedish BioFuels AB of Stockholm, Sweden, as the winner of the SACC Deloitte Green Award. The award is sponsored by Deloitte and is valued at $75.000. Dr. Angelica Hull of Swedish BioFuels AB received the prize on September 24 from H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Ambassador Michael Wood, Mr. Peter Gustafsson, Deloitte, and Mr. Steve Trygg, jury chairman, during a ceremony at Tavern on the Green in New York City.In fierce competition with 53 nominated companies, Swedish BioFuels AB was awarded the prize for its “groundbreaking work in the field of green technology, specifically the development of its BioJet100 fuel for airplanes.” Read More
