History

In 1906 New York’s leading Swedish businessmen met with the intention of founding a Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce.

Today their Chamber remains the preeminent Swedish-American transatlantic organization of its kind and is undisputedly the largest Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the world. It has established itself as a dynamic business organization by providing crucial support to Swedish and American companies, as well as individuals, and by producing celebrated events such as The Lucia Trade Award, The Executive Women’s Conference and The Washington Conference. It remains true to its mission “…to promote, advance and protect direct commercial relations between the United States and Sweden…” and it is a fundamental part of the Swedish American business community -- just as it was one hundred years ago.
