Assignment Evaluate the potential of the U.S. market for Scandab and to prepare and execute an establishment in the U.S.
Execution Business Services researched the U.S. market of Scandab’s products by evaluating the beneficial sales regions, distribution methods, and the competition they would face on the market. After evaluating a large number of potential distributors, Business Services met with the most interesting companies with the aim of establishing partnerships. During a week in the U.S. Scandab met with five distributors and visited a trade show together with Business Services.
Solution and Client Benefit The products were well received and two distributors immediately added them to their assortment. To manage the increase in orders that followed, Scandab established a sales office through the Business Support Office offered by Business Services. The Business Support Office dealt with day-to-day administration and handling orders. Scandab’s goal was to enter a partnership with a large distributor that could take over the responsibility for all U.S operations. This goal was reached in early 2005 when Scandab entered into a partnership with a leading distributor who today succesfully manages Scandab’s U.S. operations.
