SACC NEW YORK ANNOUNCES GREEN AWARD

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York in cooperation with Deloitte to present the SACC Deloitte Green Award.

The SACC Deloitte Green Award will be given to an innovative and groundbreaking small Swedish business focused on viable energy alternatives and energy conservation and efficiency. The purpose of the award is to promote Swedish “green” entrepreneurship in the U.S. market.

“Following the declaration by Newsweek that Sweden is the greenest country in the world, we are proud to support further Swedish green initiatives. Sponsoring the Chamber’s award is a part of our ongoing commitment to Swedish-American collaboration in these areas.” says Peter Gustafsson, Partner at Deloitte. The award will be presented at The Royal Green Award Dinner hosted by SACC New York on September 24, 2008, in the presence of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

The winner will be able to utilize the full expertise and know-how of SACC New York Business Services and its network in the establishment process in the U.S. market. This includes analyzing market potential, helping in legal and regulatory issues, and attracting venture capital. When the winner is announced, a solution will be tailor made to that specific company’s needs and wishes.  “We believe this to be a major opportunity for any innovative Swedish company looking to establish themselves in the U.S.” says Renée Lundholm, President of SACC New York. The value of the award, as sponsored by Deloitte, is $75 000.

The winner of the award will be chosen by a jury headed by the U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, Michael M. Wood.
