Ambassador Charles and Monika Heimbold

Ambassador Charles A. Heimbold is Vice-Chairman of the Heimbold Foundation and an active private investor. He has recently retired as the U.S. Ambassador to Sweden and before that was Chairman and CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company as well as Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association, Chairman of Phoenix House (the substance abuse prevention organization), Chairman of the University of Pennsylvania Law School Board of Overseers, Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Director of Exxon-Mobil.

Monika Heimbold is the Chair of the Heimbold Foundation. She is also a co-founder and active director of the World Childhood Foundation, a Swedish based child welfare agency focusing on abused and deprived children in various nations including Russia, the Baltic States, Brazil and the Balkans. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College where she has a degree in child psychology and she earned her Masters of Social Work degree at Columbia University. She is a Director of the American Scandinavian Foundation.
