Join us at the historic Union Club to experience a cherished Swedish tradition featuring the iconic Julbord, a stunning St. Lucia Procession, and the 30th presentation of the Lucia Trade & Innovation Award.
The Lucia Trade Award was instituted in 1987, commemorating the 350th anniversary of the arrival of the first Swedish immigrants in America. The year was officially declared one of friendship between Sweden and the United States. Each year, the award honors an individual or a company who has made a significant contribution to advancing free trade between our two nations. It affirms the philosophy of peace through trade and reflects the belief that interdependence, cooperation, and communication foster mutual understanding – and, ultimately, peace.
This year, after nearly a decade-long pause, the award returns with a renewed focus on innovation, highlighting Sweden’s ability to drive innovation and shape global industries. To reflect this evolution, the award has been renamed the Lucia Trade & Innovation Award – underscoring its continued celebration of visionary leaders and pioneers shaping the future of transatlantic trade and innovation.
We look forward to unveiling the 2025 recipient of the 30th Lucia Trade & Innovation Award at this year’s celebration.
